HERE’S AN ALL NEW TWO PIECE BILLET ALUMNUM CNC MACHINED SWITCH BOX FOR THE VINTAGE DELTA UNISAW.
ALSO FITS THE ART-DECO CAST IRON BASES FOR THE DELTA JOINTERS, BAND SAWS, AND BELT SANDERS.
No more searching for an original die cast switch box for your vintage Delta machine rebuild project, although we do have reconditioned original two piece switch boxes available for the die-hard restorer.
Our new outer switch box is modeled after the original Delta box, but is CNC machined from a solid piece of 6061 billet aluminum.
The same billet aluminum material was used for the inner box, which is a requirement to have in place to protect a person from the live electrical wiring attached to the switch.
Our thick walled machined box parts are much stronger than the OEM box parts.
OEM boxes were die cast from zinc and were very much susceptible to damage or breakage from an inadvertent bump on the box or a strong tug on the power cord.
Consider this new switch box “unbreakable”.
Our box fits an OEM switch or our replacement toggle switch, attaches to the saw or cast iron base cabinet using the existing Delta threaded holes, and accepts the incoming power cord on the outer box half and the motor connection cord on the inner box half.
The box is designed to accept 12/3 Type SJOOW power cord at both locations.
Conductor size larger than 12 ga is likely not required for your application and may require that your cords be replaced with the more compact type SJOOW cord.
For your information, 12/3 SJOOW cord is a compact .433” in diameter.
The switch box accepts either an OEM switch plate cover or any one of our four styles of silkscreened stainless steel replacement switch plate.
Each box comes complete with a CNC machined aluminum cord grip clamp for the inner box as well as a similar clamp for the outer switch box.
Each box also comes with new 18-8 stainless steel screws to assemble the cord grips to the box halves, to assemble the inner box to the outer box, and to attach the combined unit to the vintage Delta machine.
A green 8-32 hex head machine screw is provided for attaching the electrical ground circuit to the inner box.
The both halves of the switch box are as pretty as jewelry but can be easily painted to match the cabinet or base as were the OEM boxes.
The switch plate and switch are shown for clarity only and are not included when the two piece box is purchased.
