Antique 1 1/8" Carved Shell Cameo

Description

This is an Antique 1 5/16" Carved Shell Cameo.
This lovely estate brooch is thought to be hand carved.  Unlike the other cameos we are listing, this one is not mounted as a brooch or pendant; the listing is for the cameo only.  It would look wonderful in a appropriate gold or sterling mounting.
The
size relative to a US Standing Liberty half dollar, quarter and dime, is shown in one of the photos.  The overall size is 1 5/16" x 1 1/16" along the centerlines.

Condition
There is a tiny chip on the back at the top edge as seen in the photo of the back. This would not be seen with the cameo mounted and worn as a pendant or brooch.  The cameo is otherwise in excellent condition.
