Found in storage is a guaranteed genuine, genuine one-of-a-kind framed award given to Senator Robert C. Smith, (New Hampshire) byGeneral Eric K. Shineski, US Army. This one of a kind framed piece, has a brass plaque which reads: Presented to Senator Robert C. Smith by the United States Army. Thank you for your support for our soldiers. "Soldiers on Point for the Nation".  Also included is a original letter, dated April 10, 2000, from General Eric K. Shinseki, US Army, thanking the Honorable Robert C. Smith and offering this token of appreciation for his support of America's Defenders. Measures 23.5" x 19.25".

Robert Clinton Smith (born March 30, 1941) is an American politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives for New Hampshire's 1st congressional district from 1985 to 1990 and the state of New Hampshire in the United States Senate from 1990 to 2003.
About General Shinseki:
Eric Ken Shinseki
, born November 28, 1942) is a retired United States Army General who served as the seventh United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs (2009-2014).  His final United States Army post was as the 34th Chief of Staff of the    Army (1999–2003). Shinseki is a veteran of two tours of combat in the Vietnam War, in which he was awarded three Bronze Star Medals for valor and two Purple Hearts. He was the first Asian-American four star general, and the first Asian-American Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
