Description
TWO (2) Vintage Military Photographs. I'm told these photos of are of Australian Army soldiers (Anzac "Diggers") and that these date approx. to world war one (1914-1919). The smaller photograph measures approx. 10-1/2" x 7-1/4". In this photo there are thirty four men, most wearing military uniform. There is a fellow with mascot dog on his lap and wine glass in his other hand. The fellow next to him is pouring something from the bottle into his glass. Some of the guys are smoking pipes. There are multiple rifles shown, as well one shovel, a couple brooms, and a couple buckets. I noticed that some of the rifles have bayonets fixed and some of the fellows are also holding a "fluffy pompom" type thing (know what this is? please message me). The larger photo measures approx. 14-1/4" x 8-3/4". In this photo there are approx. 100 men, all wearing military uniform. Most are wearing a bandoleer type sling across their chest and most are wearing the famous "slouch hat". There are two mascot dogs in this photo on the front row, one appears to be a bulldog. These photos are 100+ years old and do show wear and tear as you'd expect. I have noted tears, fading, cracks, marks, staining, edge and corner wear, some splitting of players on backing board, etc. Please examine photos carefully to satisfy yourself as to content of the photos and cosmetic condition. Sold "as-is" (no returns). If you happen to have more info on these photos, I'd love to hear from you via eBay message. Thanks!
