Westinghouse Table Top Oscillating Fan Part #Y-35256 Made in the USA Vintage Working Fan with one small power cord issue (more details below) being sold as is.This fan is in good working order with the one exception being that the plug could use replacing although it still functions well even with this issue. Basically the cord is damaged inside near the wall plug end and the plug could be replaced. This is an easy fix but there is two reasons I’ve decided not to repair it. The first reason is because I did not want to damage or replace the original plug. The second reason is because the damaged cord is pretty easily worked around by simply plugging it in in the right direction so the cord stays in line. I’ve used this fan in my shop the last couple weeks to test it out and it runs well as long as the cord is not disturbed too much. Again, this is a relatively easy fix but I figured I’d leave it up to the new owner whether they want to repair the original cord and replace the original plug or not. The power cord/plug issue is why this otherwise well-working fan is being sold as is, for parts or repair.
Fan stands approximately 14 inches tall and is approximately 12 inches wide at the base. The fan blades are approximately 10 inches in diameter. Fan weighs approximately 5.5 pounds.
I’ve listed the color as purple in the item specifics but the actual color is more of a mix of colors and is somewhat difficult to describe. The plastic fan blades are grayish beige. The metal base is more of a light purple-pinkish color depending on the angle and lighting.
There is most likely a bottom cover plate that is missing. It’s possible that these fans were made with the bottom open like this one is but most likely there was a plate that covered the bottom compartment that is gone. Also, the oscillation works great but once in a while you’ll notice that it stops working. This only happened to me twice over about two weeks of usage. Each time it was when the fan was first powered on. Each time I simply coaxed it along manually and the oscillation started working fine again.
The fan is in overall good condition with some normal usage and aging wear including some scratches, blemishes, dust and some rusting to the metal parts. It is being sold as is for parts or repair due to the power cord/plug issue as well as the slight oscillation issue. Please examine all photos. Message with any questions or for more photos.
